Save Money with Solar Landscape Lights
Solar landscape lights are all rage these days. Do you know why? And more importantly, do you know that this is not a fad? Many people have held out on switching their lighting systems over because they’re either concerned about the price or they’re worried that once they do a new, more improved technology will replace them. This is not and will not be the case.
First, though, you need to realize that though the initial cost of these solar options is usually more expensive, they pay for themselves in just a matter of years. This is why it’s only advisable to invest in this kind of option if you plan on staying in the place for a long time.
However, once you know that you are going to be staying (or you plan on selling the house for a profit later on) you should make the switch. Start with the front of your home. There are spot lights, fence and walkway lights, decorative accent lights, and wall lights. Then, you can go around to the backyard. There are patio deck lamps, flood lamps, and even tiki torches and lanterns. You can get them in bronze, copper, stainless steel, and even chrome. All of these can be solar powered! Most people wouldn’t even consider getting this many lights for their landscape due to the sky high electric bill. But with solar power, you can have all this brilliant light shining on your home for very little cost.
Kichler and Zenith both provide most of these options. They have started to become front runners in the solar energy space but there are still no dominating manufacturers. You might come across different brands as you look so don’t be afraid to give them a shot. You can always talk to someone you know who has made the switch or go down to your local electrical distributor, as they are starting to sell all these products. The reason for this is because even though you will cut down on electricity, you will still need motion sensor switches, wiring (in some cases) and mounts.
